Detroit Was Crumbling. Here’s How It’s Reviving.
For a news story about budgetary oversight, Morrigan hired photographer Emily Najera to make vertical “portraits” of buildings in various neighborhoods. She and designer Andrew Rossback worked with reporter Monica Davey to craft first-person text that was minimal but powerful, to tell the story in a mobile-first format that would inspire readers to make it through what otherwise could have been a ho-hum budget story.
